For generations, trees have offered far more than shade and firewood. Their bark, needles, berries, resins and leaves have been used as food, traditional medicine, aromatics, household remedies and everyday resources.

During this Gathering, we’ll explore a handful of trees found in and around our Northwoods and uncover some of their surprising uses, stories, and traditions.

We’ll look at what parts have traditionally been used, how people worked with them, what modern herbal practice tells us, and a few fascinating things trees are doing right under our noses.
